According to the Department of Culture of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups, on May 16-17, 2026, a series of activities introducing the traditional culture of Tay and Nung people in Thai Nguyen province will take place at the Village of Culture and Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups with many rituals, art programs and attractive experiential activities.
The highlight of the program will be the activity of recreating the ritual of Praying for peace and dispelling bad luck - a beautiful feature in the religious life of the Tay and Nung people.
The ritual carries the meaning of praying for peace, health, favorable harvests, a prosperous life and expressing gratitude to ancestors and gods who have protected the family and village.
To perform the ritual, the homeowner will choose a suitable day and invite Then masters and Tao masters to perform traditional rituals. The ritual space is expected to be solemnly recreated with parts such as offering incense to report to ancestors, praying for blessings, praying for fortune and dispelling bad luck.
Through this activity, tourists have the opportunity to learn more deeply about spiritual life as well as traditional cultural values preserved by the Tay and Nung communities through many generations.

In addition to the ritual part, the folk song and dance exchange program "Viet Bac remembers Uncle Ho" will bring many performances imbued with the identity of Viet Bac region. Tinh zither in harmony with Then melodies will recreate the unique cultural space of the Tay and Nung people.
Sli singing and Luon singing performances praising homeland, country, love for labor and love for President Ho Chi Minh of ethnic minorities promise to bring many emotions to viewers.
The photo exhibition space "Uncle Ho in the hearts of compatriots" will introduce many images and documents about the bond between Uncle Ho and the community of Vietnamese ethnic groups.
Within the framework of the program, visitors can also participate in folk games such as throwing con, stilt walking, bamboo dancing and interact with ethnic communities living daily at the Village of Culture - Tourism of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups.
The series of activities not only contributes to promoting traditional cultural values but also creates a space for exchange and community connection, helping tourists have more meaningful experiences at the "Common House" of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups.
