After merging 4 administrative units including Long Giao town, Nhan Nghia commune, Bao Binh commune and Xuan My commune, Cam My commune (Dong Nai province) is continuing to affirm its position as a bright spot in building new rural areas (NTM).
In the 2025-2030 period, the locality aims to complete infrastructure, develop organic agriculture, and build communes that meet advanced NTM standards in an ecological and modern direction.
In recent years, Cam My commune has always been in the leading group of the province in investing in rural infrastructure. In the 2020-2025 period, the commune mobilized more than VND 2,560 billion to build the foundation, completing a series of works serving people such as schools, cultural houses, rural transportation, electricity systems and water supply. The environmental landscape has been significantly improved thanks to tree planting movements, installation of security cameras, lighting of village roads and building model residential areas.
In particular, the commune focuses on developing "bright - green - clean - beautiful" models, promoting people to reduce plastic waste, classify waste at source, and use environmentally friendly products. These efforts help the face of the countryside become more spacious and modern.
The production value of the whole commune increased by an average of more than 13% per year; agriculture alone increased by 5.14%, industry - construction increased by nearly 12.75% and trade - services increased by nearly 17.2%. Average income per capita is about 97 million VND/year.
In agricultural development, Cam My has chosen a sustainable direction with a focus on commodity, safe and organic agriculture. Up to now, the commune has formed 6 concentrated production areas, 9 production - consumption chains, including many durian growing area codes for export and OCOP products. About 128 hectares of crops are VietGAP certified, nearly 1,400 hectares apply economical irrigation systems, 3 organic production models with a total area of nearly 64 hectares.
One typical example is the Nhan Nghia Durian Cooperative Group led by Mr. Do Luong Y. Mr. Y is a typical farmer of the commune, a pioneer in converting farming according to VietGAP standards, collaborating with other farmers to build codes for durian growing areas for export to China. He shared that participating in the chain of links helps farmers receive technical support, access to quality materials and have stable output for products.
Cooperatives and cooperative groups in the area are also increasingly affirming their role in collective economic development. The whole commune currently has 9 cooperatives and 30 cooperative groups operating effectively in cultivation, animal husbandry and agricultural services.
Notable is Quyet Tien Agricultural - Trade - Service Cooperative with the "Largefield" model of growing green-skinned grapefruit. The cooperative's products have achieved OCOP certification, built a production - consumption chain, helping farmers have stable output and higher selling prices than the market.
According to Vice Chairman of Cam My Commune People's Committee Doan Van Liem, people's income is still mainly from agricultural production. Therefore, in the coming time, the commune will continue to attract private investment in infrastructure for production, especially in specialized areas; at the same time, restructure agriculture towards improving efficiency and added value.
Cam My commune aims to develop clean, organic agriculture, applying high technology associated with processing industry and expanding product consumption markets, aiming to build a new, advanced, modern and sustainable rural commune.
