Dong Nai wants 40% of ethnic minority workers to have jobs and stable incomes

Dong Nai - The city sets a target that by 2030, the proportion of ethnic minorities who are trained in occupations suitable to their needs, conditions and have stable incomes will reach 40%.

On July 24, Dong Nai City People's Committee just issued a plan to implement the Ethnic Minority Affairs Strategy for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2045 in the city.

According to the plan, the goal by 2030 is to achieve average economic growth of communes and wards in ethnic minority and mountainous areas from 10 to 12%/year; Average income of ethnic minorities reaches about 2/3 of the city's general average; reduce the multidimensional poverty rate by an average of 1-1.5% per year, no longer have particularly difficult communes and villages, striving to achieve a rate of 70% of communes and wards in ethnic minority areas meeting new rural standards.

In addition, the city also sets a target for social labor productivity in ethnic minority and mountainous areas to increase by an average of 6.5%/year; The proportion of ethnic minorities of working age who are trained in occupations suitable to their needs, conditions and have stable income reaches 40%, of which at least 50% are female workers.

Shift the structure of rural labor in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, annually attracting 3% of workers to work in industries and occupations: Industry, handicrafts, tourism, services. By 2030, 40% of ethnic minority workers will know how to work in industries and occupations: Industry, handicrafts, tourism, services, of which at least 50% are female workers.

The City People's Committee also set out key and breakthrough tasks and specific tasks such as: Focusing resources on developing commodity economy, production according to the value chain; encouraging the development of cooperatives, collective economy, and private economy in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Build and replicate diverse livelihood models, production development support models to support poverty reduction, suitable to ecological, cultural and developmental conditions of each locality, especially in extremely difficult communes and villages, ethnic minority and mountainous areas, safe zones, and border areas.
