Consolidating the team after arranging administrative units
In recent years, the synchronous implementation of ethnic minority policies of the Party and State has contributed to improving the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities in Ca Mau province. Along with infrastructure investment and livelihood support, reputable people continue to affirm their role as a bridge between Party committees, authorities and people.
Not only propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, this force also actively mobilizes people to develop production, build a cultural life, participate in mediation at the grassroots level and maintain security and order.
According to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the whole province currently has 158 reputable people among ethnic minorities in 39 communes and wards. Among them, reputable people are Khmer people accounting for 73.42%; the rest are Hoa people and Kinh people. The composition is quite diverse, including party secretaries, hamlet and hamlet heads, retired officials, religious dignitaries and typical individuals in labor and production.
The arrangement of administrative units and reorganization of hamlets and wards has reduced the number of areas with reputable people from 158 to 126. Many new hamlets and wards formed after the merger have two or more reputable people operating together, posing requirements for arrangement and appropriate assignment to promote the effectiveness of resources at the grassroots level.
Before the arrangement, 18 prestigious people participated in positions in the grassroots political system. After the arrangement, it is expected that 8 more people will continue to hold these positions. For the remaining 150 people, the province determines that these are still important forces in mass mobilization, mediation and building the great national unity bloc.
Promoting the role of a bridge in ethnic minority areas
In the period 2026 - 2030, Ca Mau sets a goal to consolidate and improve the quality of reputable people in a practical, typical and inherited direction. By 2030, the province strives for 100% of hamlets and clusters with ethnic minorities to have reputable people or core forces participating in propaganda and mobilization of the masses; 100% of reputable people are provided with information, skills training and fully implement regimes and policies according to regulations.
Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang said that the province will focus on consolidating the team of reputable people; discovering and fostering young factors, people with qualifications, individuals who are good at production and business, and typical religious dignitaries to create a long-term source of inheritance.
In addition, the locality continues to innovate the content of training in law, mass mobilization skills, and grassroots mediation; strengthen the application of information technology, digital transformation in management and information connection; and at the same time promote the role of reputable people in mobilizing people to convert livelihoods, apply science and technology, participate in national target programs, sustainable poverty reduction and new rural construction.
According to the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Ca Mau province, in the first 6 months of 2026, the socio-economic, defense, and security situation in ethnic minority areas continued to stabilize. The work of caring for people with prestige, religious dignitaries, policy households, and poor households was fully implemented; cultural and religious activities were organized with attention, contributing to consolidating the people's trust in the Party and State.
In the period 2010 - 2025, the province mobilized more than 3,200 billion VND to invest in developing ethnic minority areas, thereby improving infrastructure, improving the quality of social security and creating a foundation for reputable people to continue to promote their role as a bridge between Party committees, authorities and people, contributing to building the great national unity bloc and promoting sustainable development.
