The approaching rainy and storm season is increasing the risk of power grid incidents due to fallen trees, violations of safety corridors and extreme weather. Proactively preventing, Ha Tinh Power Company (CTDL) is focusing on clearing corridors and handling weak points to ensure safe and continuous power supply, according to the Ha Tinh Provincial Electronic Information Portal.
Ha Tinh Power Corporation currently manages 276.22km of 110kV power lines, 3,831.8km of medium voltage power lines, nearly 7,980km of low voltage power lines, along with 13 110kV substations and 4,242 distribution substations. Many routes pass through planted forests, hills, residential areas and infrastructure development areas, so corridor protection work always faces many challenges.
In the first 7 months of 2026, the whole province recorded 16 incidents due to violations of the power grid safety corridor, an increase compared to the same period. The main causes are trees outside the corridor that are at risk of falling into power lines, flying kites, construction and using mechanical vehicles that do not ensure a safe distance.
Right from the beginning of the year, Ha Tinh Power Corporation has developed a thematic plan, reviewed high-risk locations, strengthened clearing of corridors and overcome defects on the power grid. In April 2026, nearly 400 people were mobilized to handle the power grid corridor in Huong Khe, pruning trees on more than 330 sections of poles with a length of more than 36km, combined with propaganda for people to protect power projects.
Entering the peak of storms and floods, the Company continues to inspect key routes, handle trees at risk of falling and use flycams to check difficult-to-reach areas, and promptly detect unsafe risks.
In Huong Khe, by the end of June 2026, the local Electricity Company had handled 1,158 pole sections, cleared 6 power lines and pruned about 6,819 trees. Meanwhile, Huong Son Electricity Company handled 1,021 trees in the corridor, 2,356 trees outside the corridor on 349 pole sections, equivalent to 35km of power lines.
For the 110kV power grid, Ha Tinh High Voltage Power Grid Enterprise regularly inspects key locations, coordinates with the government and forest owners to clear dangerous trees, add warning signs and propagate to people not to violate the safety corridor.
In parallel with technical solutions, Ha Tinh Power Project continues to promote propaganda through the broadcasting system, newspapers, social networks, leaflets and direct propaganda in residential areas and schools; focusing on risks such as kite flying, vegetation burning and construction near power lines.
Proactively handling risks early, applying technology and raising community awareness are considered key solutions to help protect the power grid, ensure safe and stable power supply, serving the lives and socio-economic development of the locality.
