On July 18, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation (VBD) of Lang Son province coordinated with the Organizing Committee of the Central Red Journey to open the Red Journey "Lang Son Pink Drop 2026", according to the Lang Son Provincial e-Portal.
Attending the program were Ms. Doan Thu Ha, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Honorary Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society; Mr. Dinh Huu Hoc, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of departments, branches, armed forces and a large number of volunteers.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Dinh Huu Hoc said that 2026 is the 13th consecutive year Lang Son has participated in the Red Journey. After 12 years of implementation, the program has contributed to raising awareness about blood donation to save people, propagating the prevention of thalassemia, building regular blood donation habits in the community and supplementing blood sources for emergency and treatment. From the beginning of 2026 to now, the whole province has organized 12 blood donation drives, receiving 5,368 units of blood.
Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee requested levels and sectors to continue to promote propaganda and care for blood donors before, during and after blood donation; organize good blood donation points, promptly commend typical collectives and individuals. At the same time, call on officials, soldiers, union members, workers and people to actively respond to the voluntary blood donation movement.
At the program, the Central Red Journey Organizing Committee awarded the Red Journey symbol to the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization and launched the Red Journey "Liang Rose Drop 2026".
The 13th Blood Donation Day in Lang Son takes place in two days, July 18-19, 2026, attracting a large number of volunteers to participate. Through screening, the Organizing Committee received 955 units of blood on the same day, July 18. On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also visited and presented gifts to 15 patients with thalassemia being treated at the Provincial General Hospital.
