Lao Cai continues to make its mark in building a positive educational environment when in the 2025-2026 school year, 918/954 educational institutions in the area were recognized as meeting the "Happy School" criteria, reaching a rate of more than 96%.
Implementing Plan No. 131/KH-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee and Decision No. 1665/QD-UBND promulgating the set of evaluation criteria "Happy School", the Lao Cai Department of Education and Training has synchronously implemented many solutions to build a safe, friendly and humane learning environment.
100% of educational institutions in the province have developed implementation plans, integrated criteria into school year tasks, associated with education innovation, building school culture, preventing and combating school violence and building national standard schools.
Propaganda work is deployed diversely through conferences, professional activities, experiential activities, electronic information portals and social networks of schools.
Many models such as "Happy Classroom", "Happy Study Hour", open libraries, reading spaces, experience areas, life skills education activities, charity and emotional - social education are maintained, contributing to spreading positive values in the school environment.
Schools also focus on building a culture of behavior, school psychological counseling, physical and mental health care for students, investing in green - clean - beautiful landscapes, and promoting innovation in teaching methods according to the 2018 General Education Program, STEM education and the application of information technology in management and teaching.
The appraisal results showed that 81/91 units of educational institutions under the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Education and Training met the criteria, equivalent to 89.01%; for educational institutions managed by commune-level People's Committees, 837/863 units were recognized, reaching a rate of 97%.
In the coming time, the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Education and Training will continue to improve the quality of implementing the "Happy School" criteria set, strengthen digital transformation in evaluation, mobilize resources to invest in facilities, especially in mountainous and particularly difficult areas, contributing to building a safe and friendly educational environment and improving the quality of comprehensive education.
