On the morning of July 6, Tay Ninh province solemnly organized a ceremony to pay respects, commemorate and bury 173 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed in Cambodia, who were gathered and repatriated in phase 2, phase XXV (dry season 2025-2026).
The memorial service took place at Vinh Hung - Tan Hung Martyrs' Cemetery with the participation of Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee; along with leaders of central ministries and branches, National Steering Committee 515, Military Region 7 and Tay Ninh province.
In a solemn atmosphere, the delegates observed a minute of silence, offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, national defense and fulfilling noble international obligations in Cambodia.

Promoting the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", the memorial service is an opportunity to express gratitude to cadres and soldiers of the Vietnamese Volunteer Army and experts who set off to perform international duties more than 40 years ago, contributing to the Cambodian people to defeat the genocidal regime, bringing peace and revival to the friendly country.
According to the Steering Committee 515 of Tay Ninh province, the work of searching, repatriating and repatriating martyrs' remains has always been identified as a particularly important political task. In recent years, with the direction of the Party and State, the National Steering Committee 515, Military Region 7 and the coordination of the Royal Army, government and people of Cambodia, the work of repatriating martyrs' remains has achieved many positive results.
In phase 2 of phase XXV (dry season 2025-2026), Team K of Tay Ninh province overcame many difficulties in terms of terrain, information sources and time, persistently following each source of information, meeting witnesses, and comparing historical documents to find comrades.
After nearly two months of performing the task, the teams searched and collected 173 sets of martyrs' remains, raising the total number of sets collected in the entire period XXV to 511 sets of martyrs' remains.

After the memorial service, delegates, officers, soldiers and people brought the coffins of the martyrs to the burial place in the sound of the soul music of the martyrs and the ringing of bells. Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc and delegates respectfully poured the first handfuls of soil onto the martyrs' graves, expressing deep gratitude for the sacrifices of previous generations.
On this occasion, the delegation also presented gifts to encourage the specialized teams for searching for and repatriating martyrs' remains of Tay Ninh province and the cemetery management force.
According to the Steering Committee 515 of Tay Ninh province, through 25 stages of searching and repatriating in Cambodia, the province's specialized forces have brought back 9,183 sets of martyrs' remains, of which 282 sets have identified their identities and addresses, contributing to easing the pain of war and meeting the aspirations of the relatives of the martyrs.
