On April 9, in Ea Wer commune, Dak Lak province, the groundbreaking ceremony of the passion fruit preservation and preliminary processing warehouse project took place, invested by Hung Phuoc Investment Joint Stock Company (HP Corp). Dak Lak Construction Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company is the construction unit.
The project is considered one of the important projects, contributing to promoting the development of the agricultural product value chain, especially passion fruit - one of the key crops of the Central Highlands region.
Over the years, the Central Highlands agricultural sector in general and Dak Lak province in particular have still faced many challenges. Agricultural products mainly depend on traders, prices fluctuate unstablely, while post-harvest preservation and processing are still limited. These factors have caused the value of agricultural products not to be exploited to the maximum, and farmers' lives are still facing many difficulties.
The commencement of the construction of a passion fruit preservation and preliminary processing warehouse is expected to fundamentally solve these shortcomings. The project helps extend the preservation time of agricultural products, minimizing post-harvest losses...
More importantly, the project will contribute to creating stable output, limiting the situation of "bumper crop, price drop", thereby helping farmers feel secure in production.
Mr. Tran Minh Trinh - Vice Chairman of Ea Wer Commune People's Committee assessed: "Not only bringing benefits to the agricultural sector, the project also has a positive impact on socio-economic life in the locality. When put into operation, the project will create more jobs for local workers.
At the same time, it contributes to increasing income for passion fruit growers, promoting rural economic development and stabilizing social security, especially in ethnic minority and mountainous areas".
According to Mr. Trinh, the project is considered an important bridge between businesses, farmers and the market, towards long-term sustainable development.
In a broader perspective, the investment in building a passion fruit preservation and preliminary processing warehouse also reflects the local orientation for modern agricultural development. This is an important step to promote industrialization in agriculture, form a professional agricultural logistics system and improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products in the international market.
