Lai Chau Power Company has just organized a ceremony to energize the power supply project for villages and hamlets without electricity in Muong Mo commune, including 2 hamlets Huoi Dao and Huoi Linh, according to the Lai Chau Provincial e-Portal.
Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Sy Canh, along with representatives of departments, agencies, branches, Party committees, authorities of Muong Mo commune and a large number of people from 2 villages.
Huoi Dao and Huoi Linh are 2 particularly difficult highland villages with 143 households, including 76 households in Huoi Dao and 67 households in Huoi Linh, 100% of whom are Mong ethnic people. Due to the divided terrain, many mountainsides and streams, investing in electricity systems faces many difficulties.
Implementing the policy of bringing national grid electricity to villages without electricity, Lai Chau Power Company was assigned to implement a project with a total investment of more than 18 billion VND.
The project was completed after a period of urgent construction with the items: upgrading and building more than 12.5km of 35kV power lines; installing 2 transformer substations with a capacity of 100kVA; building more than 5.1km of 0.4kV low-voltage power lines, ensuring stable and safe power supply for all households in 2 villages.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Sy Canh affirmed that the completion of the project is the result of the concern and direction of Vietnam Electricity Group, Northern Power Corporation and the coordination of departments, branches, local authorities and Lai Chau Power Company.
According to Mr. Nguyen Sy Canh, the commissioning of the project has officially brought national grid electricity to the people of Huoi Dao and Huoi Linh, contributing to increasing the rate of villages and hamlets with electricity in Lai Chau province to 100%, and the rate of households using national grid electricity reaching 97.81%. This is an important foundation for the province to strive to have 99% of households using national grid electricity by 2030 according to the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress.
On this occasion, Lai Chau Power Company awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the project to invest in supplying national grid electricity to villages without electricity in the province. Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee also presented many gifts to households in 2 villages.
