According to the Department of Culture and Sports of An Giang province, preparations for the Via Ba Chua Xu Nui Sam Festival in 2026 are being urgently implemented to ensure that the festival takes place solemnly, safely and creates an impression in the spiritual and cultural life of the people.
According to the plan, the opening ceremony will take place from December 6th to 12th at Nui Sam National Tourist Area.
This year, the festival combines traditional religious rituals with elaborately staged art programs. This combination contributes to enriching the community cultural living space, while spreading folk religious values in contemporary life.
This is also the first year the festival has been held after the merger of provincial-level administrative units and the two-level local government model. Therefore, the event is expected to contribute to introducing the image, cultural identity and religious life of An Giang to a large number of people and tourists.
During the festival, many traditional rituals continue to be organized such as restoring the procession of the Ba statue, the Ba bath ceremony, the spirit possession ceremony, the túc yết and xây chầu ceremony, the chánh tế ceremony, the hồi sắc ceremony... Besides, there is a series of art programs with the participation of many artists and singers from Ho Chi Minh City.
Fireworks activities at Nui Sam National Tourist Area on the opening night are also considered a highlight of this year's festival season, contributing to creating a solemn and exciting atmosphere for the event.
Organizing cultural and artistic activities associated with the Via Ba Chua Xu Nui Sam Festival not only contributes to preserving and promoting the value of the representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO, but also creates more motivation for cultural, service and commercial activities of the locality in the new period.
