Attending the ceremony were Comrade Trinh Van Quyet, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Le Tien Chau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Le Ngoc Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong City; Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Mr. Lam Van Man - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council; along with representatives of leaders of ministries, departments, central agencies, leaders of Hai Phong City through periods and friendly provinces and cities.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Mr. Do Thanh Trung - Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee emphasized that originating from 2012, the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival has continuously developed, becoming a typical cultural imprint, crystallizing the identity, enthusiasm and intelligence of generations of leaders and people of the city and is a major event, an intangible cultural product worth looking forward to by tourists from near and far when coming to Hai Phong.
Continuing that journey, the Hai Phong Red Flamboyant Flower Festival 2026 will not only stop at a unique art program but also blend into the space of more than 60 vibrant cultural and sports activities throughout the city; starting and inaugurating 14 key projects, creating new development space for the city.
In the new space and stature, with the theme "Hai Phong - Convergence - Shining", it is an affirmation of the close connection between the historical flow of the heroic port city and the Eastern Land of Culture. This is a symbol of endogenous strength, where industrial resources, seaports and World Heritage values resonate and realize the burning aspiration, building a solid foundation for Hai Phong to confidently reach higher and take off.
The 71st anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day and the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2026 were attended by about 20,000 direct spectators at the Central Political and Administrative Square and tens of thousands of spectators watching on television and digital platforms. The highlight of the opening night was the art program themed "Hai Phong - Convergence - Shine", including 3 chapters: "Hai Phong - Epic Song at the forefront of the waves", "Convergence of Sources" and "Aspiration to Shine". The program gathered many famous artists such as Khanh Hoa People's Artist, Nhat Thuan People's Artist, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Meritorious Artist Vu Thang Loi; singers Trong Tan, My Tam, Pham Thu Ha, Duong Hoang Yen, Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Oplus group... and hundreds of professional and amateur actors. Closing the opening night was the largest-scale art fireworks display ever in Hai Phong.
Within the framework of the opening ceremony of the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival 2026 with the theme "Hai Phong - Gathering and Shining", the city announced and awarded the title of Tourism Ambassador of Hai Phong City to 2nd Runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2024 Nguyen Thi Van Nhi. This is the first time Hai Phong city has officially announced the City Tourism Ambassador - a meaningful milestone in orienting the innovation of tourism promotion and promotion activities in a modern, professional and highly contagious direction. As a daughter of Hai Phong homeland, Runner-up Nguyen Thi Van Nhi is expected to accompany the city in tourism, culture and local image promotion activities; contributing to spreading the beauty of the dynamic, friendly, modern but still rich in identity Red Flamboyant city.
Also at the program, Hai Phong city announced the Decision recognizing Vu Yen Tourist Area as a provincial-level tourist area; announced and honored 9 typical and outstanding tourism establishments that met the Green Tourism Criteria of Hai Phong city.
