On August 17, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that Bao Ha Commune Police had just received a turtle individual voluntarily handed over by people.

At about 7 pm on August 15, Mr. Luong Viet Cuong (born in 1995, residing in Bao Vinh village, Bao Ha commune) brought a turtle to Bao Ha Commune Police to hand it over.

The turtle weighs about 1.2kg, with a hard yellow shell.

According to Mr. Cuong, in the afternoon of the same day, during activities near his house, he discovered a turtle in the ditch area.

Realizing that this could be a wild animal, Mr. Cuong proactively brought the turtle to Bao Ha Commune Police to hand it over.

This action is to avoid the risk of individual turtles being hunted, traded, farmed or harmed.

After receiving it, Bao Ha Commune Police ensured the safety of the turtle individual.
