Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision to establish the Steering Committee for National Target Programs for the period 2026-2030 to strengthen the direction, administration and organization of the implementation of programs in the area.
The Steering Committee is established to advise and assist the Provincial People's Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee in directing, administering, and resolving tasks related to management and organization of the implementation of national target programs in the area in the period 2026-2030.
According to the decision, the Steering Committee consists of 24 members. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Van Thach holds the position of Head of the Committee.
Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Nong Quoc Hung is the Standing Deputy Head; Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nong The Phuc holds the position of Deputy Head. The remaining members are leaders of departments, agencies, branches, unions and related units.

The Steering Committee has the task of researching and proposing direction and administration solutions; coordinating to handle inter-sectoral issues; urging, inspecting, summarizing, and evaluating the results of implementing national target programs.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to be the standing agency of the Steering Committee, and at the same time consolidate the Program Coordination Office in the direction of streamlining, efficiency, and not increasing organizational and staffing levels.
The Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs is also assigned to consolidate the specialized department to advise and implement contents related to ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
The Steering Committee operates on a part-time basis, self-dissolving after completing its tasks. Operating expenses are guaranteed from the state budget and other legal sources of funding as prescribed.
