Information from Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Truong Ha Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Cao Bang province) on January 28, Mr. Le Hai Hoa - Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee - said that Truong Ha Primary and Secondary Boarding School is determined to develop in a direction of selective inheritance, standardization and replication of the core advantages of the model model (Inter-level Primary and Secondary School in Si Pa Phin commune, Dien Bien province).
Right from the investment preparation stage, Cao Bang province has clearly grasped the view that investment in education in border areas must be carefully and systematically prepared, done firmly and calculated for the long term.
According to the Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee, in this implementation phase, Cao Bang province organized the construction of 11 boarding general education schools, including 1 school donated by Hanoi City, showing the deep affection and sharing of responsibility of the Capital towards highland and border areas of the Fatherland.
Previously, on the afternoon of January 11, in Thai Nguyen province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the groundbreaking ceremony of 3 infrastructure investment projects for specialized schools - Viet Bac Highland High School, Ho Chi Minh City University Preparatory School and Sam Son Ethnic University Preparatory School - a project to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress.
In order to implement the task of building and investing in facilities for schools and classrooms within the framework of the National Target Program on socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period 2021-2030, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has decided to approve 3 facilities investment projects for Viet Bac Highland High School, Ho Chi Minh City University Preparatory School and Sam Son Ethnic University Preparatory School.
These are all large-scale investment projects with VND 296.2 billion for Viet Bac Highland High School, VND 144.8 billion for Ho Chi Minh City University Preparatory School and VND 101.5 billion for Sam Son Ethnic University Preparatory School.
The projects are expected to be inaugurated in September 2026 to be ready to welcome students into the new school year.
Notably, in 2025, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions implemented 2 projects: the Central University Preparatory School in Viet Tri (Phu Tho province) and the Nha Trang Central Ethnic Minority University Preparatory School (in Khanh Hoa).
The national target program for socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period 2021-2030 (Decision No. 1719/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister) also clearly defines: Building and strengthening facilities, equipment, and teaching aids for more than 320 ethnic minority boarding schools, more than 1,100 ethnic minority boarding schools; 7 university and university preparatory facilities, 3 regional ethnic minority boarding high schools.
This task is being actively implemented by ministries, sectors, especially the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs and related localities.
