On October 22, a working delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training led by Permanent Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong visited and supported educational institutions that were severely damaged by the impact of storm No. 11 in Lang Son province.
Here, the working group visited and supported Yen Binh Kindergarten, Yen Binh Primary School, Yen Binh Secondary School, Yen Binh Commune, Lang Son Province.



Reporting at the meeting, Ms. Phan Thi Hoa - Principal of Yen Binh Primary School - informed that the floodwaters appeared at night and rose very quickly, the water level in the school was about 2.5 - 3.5m.
Dong Xa school was flooded throughout the classroom. Dong La school was slightly affected by heavy rain. The total estimated damage is about over 2 billion VND. The school has compiled statistics, assessed the extent of damage, and organized recovery after storms and floods to stabilize teaching and learning activities.
At the same time, the school has also proactively encouraged staff, teachers, staff and workers to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods at home; organized visits and encouraged students who suffered heavy damage at home.
To ensure the safety of students returning to school soon, the school organized for staff, teachers, staff and workers, parents and support forces to urgently clean up, sanitize and overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
On October 16, the school organized a return to school for students. Boarding activities for students will be held again from October 20.
At this time, 100% of the school's students have enough textbooks, notebooks, utensils, school bags, clothes and personal items to ensure their studies.


Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong said: The two storms No. 10 and 11 caused heavy damage to the people, including the education sector in localities with thousands of damaged schools and damaged equipment.
In recent times, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued many urgent, drastic and regular directives to localities and schools on storm and flood prevention and control and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and floods, ensuring safety and returning students to school soon.
Sharing the difficulties with the people and the education sector in localities, the Ministry of Education and Training has also mobilized contributions from individuals and organizations to join hands and join hands to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and floods. In Lang Son province alone, the Ministry of Education and Training and other units have donated VND4.35 billion to support the education sector to overcome the consequences.
Assessing that the damage caused by natural disasters is huge, it cannot be fixed in one day or two, the Standing Deputy Minister hopes that localities, especially commune-level education managers, will be close to and pay attention to educational activities in the area.
