The delegation includes representatives of the Navy Region 2 agencies and 47 delegates, reporters from central and local newspapers and radio stations. The delegation will visit, inspect and extend New Year greetings to the DK1 rigs, Station 590, duty ships and civil and political agencies of Con Dao district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
Speaking at the farewell ceremony for the two working delegations on the morning of January 1, 2025, Colonel Tran Manh Chien, Political Commissar of Naval Region 2, shared that every time Tet comes, the ships of Naval Region 2 bring goods, necessities, Tet gifts and simple gifts from the mainland with all the affection and trust to the soldiers on the front lines of the Fatherland.
"That is the concern of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the people of the whole country, our overseas Vietnamese for the sea and islands in general and the soldiers of the DK1 Platform in particular - thereby helping the soldiers on the front line to be motivated, overcome all challenges, persevere, and excellently complete the task of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland," said Colonel Tran Manh Chien.
Colonel Tran Manh Chien emphasized that when carrying out missions in long-term conditions at sea and in unfavorable weather, the Regional Command requested the working group on the ship to uphold responsibility, unite to overcome difficulties, and bring Tet gifts to officers and soldiers on the front line in absolute safety.
The working delegation visited, inspected, and extended New Year greetings to DK1 rigs, Station 590, duty ships, and civil and party agencies of Con Dao district, led by Colonel Do Hong Duyen, Deputy Political Commissar of Region 2.
In addition to inspecting combat readiness, the two delegations will bring Tet gifts from the Ministry of National Defense, the Navy, the Naval Region 2 Command, civil and party agencies, businesses and people of localities to give to officers and soldiers on duty at sea, on islands and on the southern continental shelf on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

During the working trip, delegations No. 1 and No. 2 carried more than 1,000 packages of Lunar New Year gifts, sent by 28 agencies, organizations and individuals to officers and soldiers on duty at DK1 platform, Station 590. The total value of all gifts was more than 2 billion VND.
