According to Pagasa, the low pressure being monitored has strengthened into a tropical depression at 8:00 a.m. on December 4 (local time).
In the latest update, Pagasa said the tropical depression has the local name Wilma. The tropical depression may make landfall and the possibility of making landfall in Eastern Visayas or Southern Luzon is something that needs further monitoring.
Pagasa urges residents and visitors in areas that may be on Wilma's path to proactively prepare for the risk of heavy rain due to the tropical depression.
Areas in the Philippines such as the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas and Mindanao are likely to experience heavy rain in the next 24 hours.
