According to the tropical depression news from the Philippine Meteorological Station, at 04 am this morning (January 11), the center of the tropical depression was located about 1,430 km east of Northeast Mindanao, at about 8.9 degrees North latitude and 139.3 degrees East longitude.
The tropical depression has the strongest winds around the center of about 45 km/h, gusts of up to 55 km/h, central pressure 1006 hPa.
The tropical depression is moving westward at a speed of about 15 km/h. The strong winds surrounding the center are up to 280 km wide.
In the next 24 hours, the tropical depression is forecast to move in the West Northwest direction and will likely enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the morning or afternoon of November 02 due. When entering this area, the Philippine Meteorological Agency will locally name it Tino.
Tropical depression Tino tends to change direction to the West while still operating in the sea east of the Philippines.
According to the trajectory forecast, the center of the tropical depression may make landfall in the Caraga or Eastern Visayas region on the morning of November 4.
The tropical depression will then move through the Visayas and Palawan regions from 04 to 0511, then out into the western Philippine Sea on 05 November.
Tropical depression Tino is expected to continue to strengthen while still at sea and is likely to reach typhoon level on November 24.
The scenario of a stronger system right before making landfall cannot be ruled out.
Typhoon Tino is forecast to enter the South China Sea on November 6. If it enters the East Sea, it will be the 13th storm of the 2025 typhoon season.
Residents and tourists are advised to closely monitor further reports on the developments of the tropical depression and the possible storm system.
