Forecast from the night of September 13th, the Northern Delta will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain due to the influence of a tropical depression and cold air.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of the tropical depression circulation combined with the diễn biến of the intertropical convergence zone, the weather in the North will turn to heavy rain from the night of September 13. Rain is likely to last until the morning of September 16, in which some places may experience very heavy rain.

On September 13th, the Northern region will mainly have showers and thunderstorms in some places, with intermittent sunshine during the day. Notably, from the night of September 13th, the Northern Delta will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with common rainfall of 20-40mm, locally over 60mm.

On the day and night of September 14, heavy rain will expand to the midland and delta areas of the Northern region, the south of Son La province, the south of Phu Tho province, Tuyen Quang and Lao Cai. Common rainfall is 30-60mm, locally over 100mm.

The meteorological agency warns that heavy rain may cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas, and industrial parks; and at the same time increase the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides on slopes. People need to be wary of thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind during heavy rain.

In other areas, on the day and night of September 13, the area from southern Nghe An to Hue City will have heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms, common rainfall of 80-180mm, locally over 300mm.

On the day and night of September 14, the area from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri will continue to have heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms, common rainfall of 70-150mm, locally over 250mm.

At sea, the tropical depression is causing strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 8 in the sea area from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai and west of the Hoang Sa special zone. Sea waves are 2-4m high, rough seas, causing danger to ships operating at sea.

The eastern region of provinces from Gia Lai to Lam Dong, the Central Highlands and the South will have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms on the day and night of September 13th, with common rainfall of 20-40mm, locally heavy to very heavy rain over 80mm.

The meteorological agency warns people and tourists in the North and Central regions to proactively monitor weather forecasts, limit travel through deeply flooded areas, rivers and streams, and areas at risk of landslides when heavy rain occurs.

Ships and vehicles operating at sea need to avoid dangerous areas due to tropical depressions, and at the same time be wary of thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind to ensure safety.
