According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from September 14, the tropical depression will move in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 10km/h, position at 17.5 degrees North latitude - 105.5 degrees East longitude, over the Central Laos area. The forecast system gradually weakens into a low pressure area.
Due to the impact of the tropical depression, the sea area from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri, including Con Co special zone, is warned of disaster risk level 3. The coastal mainland area of Quang Tri province is also in the affected area.
In the evening and night of September 13, the sea area from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri will still have strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 8, waves 2-4m high, rough seas.
In the Northern Gulf of Tonkin, including Bach Long Vi special zone, due to the influence of cold air combined with the northern circulation of the tropical depression, Northeast wind is strong at level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting at level 8, waves are 2-4m high, and the sea is rough.
Dangerous weather can affect fishing boats, transport ships, tourist boats and vehicles operating at sea. Sea sightseeing, entertainment, and tourism activities are likely to be interrupted.
Tourists planning to go to the beach in the above areas should follow the announcements of functional agencies and tour organizers, and limit going to the beach when the weather becomes bad.
In the coastal mainland area of Quang Tri province, in the late afternoon and evening of September 13, there will still be strong winds at level 6, gusting at level 8; deep inland areas will have strong winds at level 5, gusting at level 6-7.
Strong winds can blow off roofs, damage temporary structures, break down green trees, billboards and affect electrical, telecommunications, and traffic systems.
Tourists traveling and visiting in this area should limit standing near green trees, billboards, temporary structures and areas at risk of unsafety when strong winds appear.
From the evening of September 13 to September 15, Thanh Hoa and Southern Quang Tri areas will have heavy to very heavy rain, common rainfall of 150-300mm, locally over 400mm.
The area from Nghe An to North Quang Tri has heavy to very heavy rain, common rainfall of 200-400mm, locally over 500mm.
Heavy rain may cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas and industrial parks; and at the same time increase the risk of flooding on small rivers and streams, flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.
Tourists should consider adjusting their itinerary in localities with heavy rain, especially when traveling through mountainous areas, steep passes or roads at risk of flooding and landslides.
On the night of September 13th, the midland and delta areas of the Northern region, the south of Son La and Phu Tho provinces will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, common rainfall of 20-50mm, locally over 100mm.
From September 14-15, the midland and delta areas of the Northern region, the south of Son La, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang and Lao Cai provinces will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, common rainfall of 70-150mm, locally over 200mm.
