The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting updates the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (May 18) in regions across the country.
In the late afternoon and night of May 17, the Northwest region experienced scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall from 15-30mm, with heavy rain in some places over 90mm. In the Northeast, moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms occurred over a wide area with rainfall of 20-40mm, locally exceeding 100mm.
Meanwhile, from Thanh Hoa to Hue City and the South Central Coast area in the evening and evening of May 17th, there will also be scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall of 10-30mm, locally heavy rain over 90mm.
The Central Highlands and Southern regions continue to maintain weather patterns with showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and night, rainfall fluctuating from 10-30mm, some places may experience very heavy rain over 90mm.
The meteorological agency warns that in thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, potentially affecting agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damage to houses and infrastructure works. In addition, localized heavy rain can also cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in hilly areas and flooding in low-lying areas.
