The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting updates the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (May 20) in regions across the country.
According to forecasts, from the night of May 19 to May 21, the Northeast region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with locally very heavy rain.
The Northwest region will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy to very heavy rain. Meanwhile, the Central Highlands and Southern regions will continue to have showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and night, and some places may experience locally heavy rain.
Other areas across the country will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and night, with locally heavy rain; showers and thunderstorms in some places during the day.
The meteorological agency warns that in thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, people need to proactively take measures to prevent the risk of natural disasters.
From the night of May 21 to May 29, the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An maintained a pattern of showers and thunderstorms in some places; especially the Northwest region on the night of May 21 also experienced scattered showers and thunderstorms. Notably, from about May 23-26, this area is likely to experience widespread heat waves.
In the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang City and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, widespread heat may appear between May 23-27.
For other areas, on the night of May 21, there will also be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain, then the rain tends to gradually decrease. During thunderstorms, the risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind is still high.
