The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (July 8) in regions across the country.
In the evening and night of July 7, the mountainous areas of the Northern region, Central Highlands and Southern region continue to experience scattered showers and thunderstorms. Common rainfall is from 10-30mm, locally over 70mm.
During thunderstorms, people need to be wary of dangerous weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
Rainstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind can cause damage to agricultural production, causing trees to fall, roofs to be blown off, and affecting traffic and infrastructure projects.
In addition, localized heavy rain in a short time increases the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in steep slopes, and also causes flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas with poor drainage systems.
