It is expected that in the first 4 months of 2025, Ba Ria - Vung Tau will welcome about 31 passenger ships carrying tens of thousands of international tourists to Cai Mep - Thi Vai port.

On December 19, the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that it is expected that in the first 4 months of 2025, there will be 31 international passenger ships registered to dock at Cai Mep - Thi Vai area, bringing tens of thousands of international tourists to visit and travel to the Southeast region.

The first ship of 2025 is expected to be Norwegian Spirit, bringing about 2,000 tourists to Vietnam from Brunei. After entering the country and stopping in Ba Ria - Vung Tau for a day, the ship will continue to bring international tourists to Nha Trang for sightseeing.

The Mein Schiff 6 ship is expected to dock at Cai Mep - Thi Vai on April 30, 2025, which will be the 31st (7th) ship in 2025, bringing about 2,000 tourists from Chan May port to Ba Ria - Vung Tau, before departing to the next country on the itinerary.

Each train to Ba Ria - Vung Tau will bring from 1,800 - 4,000 tourists to visit, explore, learn about culture, life, and shop in the Southeast region.

According to statistics, in 2024, there will be about 50 cruise ships docking at Cai Mep - Thi Vai cluster, with a minimum number of passengers per ship from 2,000 to 5,000 people. It is expected that in 2025, this number will increase even more. This is an opportunity for Ba Ria - Vung Tau to welcome a large number of tourists from cruise ships, thereby promoting consumption and development of tourism services, trade, etc.

To effectively introduce the local image to international visitors, the tourism industry has maintained connections with shipping lines, such as travel agencies and seaports to organize safe port receptions for ships.
