According to a report from Tan Hong Trading and Tourism Company Limited, this unit will only receive one Coral Princess ship carrying about 2,600 international tourists, expected to dock at Cai Mep - Thi Vai area on October 22.
According to a representative of Saigon Tourist, this unit will organize to welcome 5 international passenger ships to dock at Phu My town, between November 9 and December 27. Each ship will carry from 2,300 to more than 3,000 international tourists to Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
"After stopping in Ba Ria - Vung Tau for tourists to visit during the day, these trains can take tourists to visit other places such as Ha Long, or Nha Trang... depending on the program," said a leader of the Department of Tourism.
According to statistics, in 2024, there will be about 50 cruise ships docking at Cai Mep - Thi Vai cluster, with a minimum number of passengers per ship from 2,000 to 6,000 people. This is an opportunity for Ba Ria - Vung Tau to welcome a large number of tourists from cruise ships, thereby promoting consumption and development of tourism services, trade...
Therefore, the Department of Tourism has maintained connections with shipping lines, as well as travel agencies and seaports to organize safe reception of ships. At the same time, it has introduced 48 ranked relics and scenic spots, traditional craft villages, and unique cultural features of Ba Ria - Vung Tau through specialized tours for cruise ship passengers such as: Vung Tau coastal tour; Vung Tau inner city tour; Phu My - Ba Ria and Long Dien inter-route tour; Ba Ria - Dat Do inter-route tour; shopping tour in Ba Ria; countryside and rural experience tour...
In addition to connecting and creating conditions to exploit international visitors for intra-provincial tours, the Department of Tourism also connects relevant parties to promote the development of cruise tourism such as: improving infrastructure, upgrading port facilities, immigration procedures, increasing accessibility to intra-provincial attractions, etc.
"In addition, it is expected that in January 2025 alone, Ba Ria - Vung Tau will continue to welcome 7 ships bringing a large number of international tourists to visit, explore and experience," the leader of the Department of Tourism informed.
