Promoting indigenous values, preserving the soul of traditional craft villages
Cho Lach commune has long been known as the "capital of seeds and ornamental flowers" of the country. With a dense river system, fertile land and skillful hands of farmers, this place converges to meet the conditions for developing eco-agricultural tourism.
The profession of growing seedlings, bonsai, and ornamental flowers not only brings stable income but also becomes a unique identity, the "source" of Cho Lach land.
According to Mr. Tran Huu Nghi - Vice Chairman of Cho Lach Commune People's Committee, traditional crafts are the core value that creates the local cultural identity.

Maintaining the profession is preserving culture. When tourism is associated with craft villages, people have more income and are more proud of their hometown's heritage.
Currently, many households are opening their gardens, combining community tourism, welcoming visitors, experiencing tree planting techniques, ornamental care, and flower arrangement.
This not only helps spread the Cho Lach ornamental flower brand but also creates job opportunities, promoting rural economic transformation.
In addition, the locality also preserves green space, village roads, tree rows, and the scene of rivers and gardens - an important factor that helps create a unique attraction for eco-tourism, Mr. Nghi added.
Building a unique tourism space
Mr. Tran Huu Nghi - Vice Chairman of Cho Lach Commune People's Committee added that the Cho Lach Cultural Tourism Village project has been implemented since 2020 on an area of over 1,490 hectares, with a total investment of over 240 billion VND.
The first phase focuses on 4 hamlets in neighboring communes, forming a chain of "agriculture - culture - tourism" linkages associated with the community.
The goal is to maximize local potential, creating a unique tourism space, associated with the river ecology and traditional craft villages.
According to Mr. Nghi, an important highlight is Cai Ga islet (79 ha) planned as a tourism service center, international flower garden, and ecological resort.
"When completed, this will be the core to help expand tourism space, connecting gardens and craft villages throughout the district. At the same time, the District Road 35 project was completed, opening a convenient traffic route, creating conditions for tourists to access more easily," Mr. Nghi added.

Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Duong Hoang Sum - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province said that the goal of the project is to form a typical tourism product associated with green agriculture, ecology and indigenous culture.
Aiming for sustainable development, people benefit directly, while tourists have the most authentic experience of the garden land.
At the same time, the province also organizes community tourism skills training, coaching on management skills, tour guides... to help people proactively participate in the service chain.
Chua Lach is gradually affirming its position as a cultural and ecological destination bearing the strong mark of the South, both preserving the traditional craft spirit and opening up a sustainable development direction for the future, Mr. Sum added.
