According to the Political Report submitted at the 1st Congress of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, the province determined the strategic goal of bringing Vinh Long to rapid and sustainable development in the new era, with the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development".
The general goal is to build Vinh Long into a center for marine economy and renewable energy production in the Mekong Delta.
To achieve this goal, the province focuses on innovating the growth model, restructuring the economy and implementing three strategic breakthroughs: applying science - technology, investing synchronously in infrastructure, developing high-quality human resources.
According to the Report, Vinh Long will take advantage of its potential to develop wind power, solar power, and green hydrogen projects, bringing the total renewable energy capacity to a high level, forming a large-scale energy center.
In addition, the province prioritizes investment in developing coastal logistics and Dinh An port to create regional connectivity and expand exports.
In agriculture, the Report clearly states the orientation of shifting to a sustainable production model, adapting to climate change. The focus is to participate in the program of 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice; at the same time, replicate the high-tech farming model such as shrimp and clams to increase product value.
Industry is restructured towards increasing high-tech processing and manufacturing, associated with the development of renewable energy. The fields of trade, services, eco-cultural - agricultural tourism continue to be promoted.
Along with that, the province synchronously implements digital transformation on three pillars of digital government, digital economy and digital society, creating a solid foundation for comprehensive development.
