Connecting the Northern tourist market
After merging 3 old provinces (Lam Dong, Binh Thuan and Dak Nong), Lam Dong became the province with the largest natural area in the country, and at the same time formed a diverse tourism space with sea, flowers and great forests. This is the basis for the locality to develop many product lines such as sea tourism, highland resorts, ecology, agriculture, geology, community culture, sports, health care and events.
With the message "Lam Dong - Journey of the sea, flowers and great forests", the conference introduces images, brands, potentials and typical tourism products of the province to the Hanoi market and northern provinces and cities; and connects management agencies, associations, travel businesses and service providers.
Mr. Nghiem Dinh Hieu - Director of the Lam Dong Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center said: "The conference set out 3 main goals, including introducing a new Lam Dong - diverse, rich in potential and ready to welcome tourists; connecting Lam Dong with the Hanoi market and northern provinces, especially through the aviation system, travel businesses and tourism service supply chains; finding partners to turn opportunities into specific cooperation programs, specific tour routes and specific customer segments".

Hanoi is a major customer distribution center, a gateway to welcome international visitors and a connecting point with many northern localities. The linkage of Lam Dong with Hanoi and northern provinces and cities is expected to form two-way journeys, supplementing products and expanding choices for tourists.
Within the framework of the conference, the Lam Dong Tourism Association and the Hanoi Tourism Association signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism development cooperation. The two sides focused on promoting and advertising products and destinations; exchanging information, positioning the market and building products suitable for each customer segment.
In addition, tourism businesses in Lam Dong, Hanoi and northern provinces and cities participate in B2B trade connection, information exchange and search for tour cooperation opportunities. OCOP products, craft villages, local specialties, tourism stimulus programs in 2026 and the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival were also introduced at the event.
Lien Khuong airport reopens, creating new momentum
The conference takes place just over a week before Lien Khuong International Airport is scheduled to resume operations on August 19, after a period of infrastructure repair and upgrade.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Ha Van Sieu - Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism said that the reopening of Lien Khuong airport will create favorable conditions to restore routes connecting Lam Dong with Hanoi, Hai Phong and tourist centers.
However, he noted that the restoration of flight routes needs to be linked to specific products, selling prices and passenger sources.
Flight routes are only sustainable when there are suitable products, competitive price policies, seasonal sales plans and stable passenger sources. Therefore, aviation connectivity needs to be seen as a component of the chain of links between management agencies, airlines, airports, travel businesses, accommodation establishments, points and media - distribution platforms," said Mr. Ha Van Sieu.
According to the plan, when operating again, Lien Khuong airport is expected to operate 36 - 40 flights per day. Flight routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Vinh and Hai Phong will be reconnected.
The Kuala Lumpur - Da Lat route operated by AirAsia is expected to resume in early September 2026 with a frequency of 4 flights/week. The Singapore - Da Lat direct flight is also being promoted. Lam Dong is also studying to expand the flight network to the Korean, Taiwan (China), Thailand and some destinations in Japan markets.

Lam Dong tourism businesses are preparing products, incentive programs and plans to coordinate with travel businesses and airline partners to welcome guests when the airport resumes operation.
Mr. Dinh Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that the locality will continue to improve the investment and business environment; promote administrative reform, digital transformation; invest in tourism infrastructure development and improve the quality of human resources.
The provincial government always identifies the business community as a companion partner in development and will continue to listen, share, promptly remove difficulties, and create the most favorable conditions for businesses to invest, expand markets and develop sustainably in Lam Dong," Mr. Dinh Van Tuan emphasized.

In 2026, Lam Dong sets a target of welcoming about 25.75 million visitors, tourism revenue reaching 71,500 billion VND. In the first 7 months of the year, the province welcomed more than 14 million visitors, an increase of 18.58% compared to the same period in 2025; tourism revenue reached more than 39,000 billion VND, an increase of 21.96%.
The reopening of Lien Khuong airport and promotion activities in Hanoi are identified as important connection steps for Lam Dong to expand the visitor market, increase regional linkages and effectively exploit new tourism spaces with the strengths of the sea, flowers and great forests.
