Young people compete in learning about Vietnamese - Japanese culture, spreading cultural and tourism connection

On the evening of May 5, the final and award ceremony of the "Vietnamese - Japanese Colors" cultural knowledge contest took place in Hanoi, gathering 10 excellent teams.

The contest is organized by the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Tourism Club in coordination with Saigon Times Trading and Tourism Co., Ltd., in the context that Vietnam-Japan relations continue to be strengthened after being upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. In which, culture and tourism are identified as important pillars contributing to strengthening people-to-people exchanges and long-term cohesion.

At the final round held on May 5, 10 best teams selected from thousands of contestants competed with two themes "Discovering Japan" and "Welcoming Japanese friends". Each team had 7 minutes of presentation, then the 5 teams with the highest scores entered the Q&A session with the judges.

Not stopping at introducing destinations, the competitions show a new approach to tourism development, when each experience is considered a "cultural dialogue". Accordingly, tourists not only visit but also understand, feel and connect with local values. Many contestants have shown creative perspectives, combining cultural knowledge with storytelling and tourism product thinking.

Overall results, the Mochi Mochi team from Hanoi University of Industry won first prize. Second prize belonged to the Giao Hoa team (Vietnam National University of Agriculture), third prize belonged to the Samurai team (University of Water Resources).

Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai - Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism said that the contest contributes to enhancing understanding of the unique cultural values of Vietnam and Japan, and at the same time promoting people-to-people exchanges among the younger generation.

Participating in the contest, students not only learn knowledge but also absorb the cultural values of the two countries. I hope you will become ambassadors telling Vietnamese stories to the world with sincere emotions," Ms. Mai said.

According to Ms. Hoa Mai, the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan is not only based on economic, trade, and investment foundations, but is also sustainably nurtured by cultural exchange and understanding between the people of the two countries.

Mr. Nguyen The Minh - General Director of SaigonTimes Travel, Head of the Organizing Committee emphasized: "The contest is not only a creative playground for young people but also a meaningful cultural exchange space, contributing to strengthening understanding and consolidating the bond between the people of the two countries.

Through the contest, the Organizing Committee expects to arouse the spirit of proactively learning, preserving and spreading traditional cultural values among the young generation, while forming integration thinking and adaptability in the international environment.

Not only academically meaningful, "Vietnam - Japan Colors" is also a forum connecting management agencies, training institutions and businesses, promoting experience sharing and innovating approaches in tourism development. Through experiential activities and presentations, the contest contributes to spreading the trend of tourism development in depth, associated with local cultural values.
