On the afternoon of December 18, good news came to the Vietnam Sports Delegation from the sport. Accordingly, the 4 athletes who won gold medals include Do Ngoc Linh (kg 50kg); Nguyen Thi My Linh (kg 53kg), Nguyen Thi My Trang (kg 57kg) and Nguyen Thi My Hanh (kg 63kg).
Notably, My Hanh, My Trang and My Linh are 3 brothers. According to records, this is the first time Vietnamese sports have had 3 brothers participating in a SEA Games.
My Hanh's family lives in Quang Dien, Hue City, with 7 children in the family. In addition to the 3 athletes participating in the SEA Games, there are 2 other members who are also athletes in the event.
My Tien's younger sister (2005) is a promising star of the Hue weightlifting team, aiming to participate in the SEA Games with her sisters. Younger brother Nguyen Dang Quoc 2013 is practicing the subject, gradually approaching the tournaments.
My Hanh and My Trang are familiar national athletes, often competing in Southeast Asian Sports Festivals. Meanwhile, My Linh had the opportunity to appear in the regional arena for the first time with the support of her two younger sisters.
On her personal page, My Hanh expressed her happiness, pride and emotion when attending the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand with her students. She shared: "Determined to bring glory to the country and homeland".
My Hanh was born in 1997 and has won the SEA Games 4 times in a row (30, 31, 32, 33). In 2023, she was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President.
Following her sister, My Trang (2001) won the gold medal twice at the Southeast Asian Games. In 2023, My Trang made an impression when it only took her 22 seconds to overwhelm her opponent, winning the gold medal in the women's 50kg weight class. This year, My Trang continues to defend her championship title.
Participating in the SEA Games for the first time, My Linh (2003) was given high expectations to follow in the footsteps of her two younger sisters who brought good results to Vietnam and she completed her goal.
