Types of plants grown directly in water such as aquatic lucky bamboo, aquatic betel or plants placed in water bottles need special attention.

For plants placed in living rooms, balconies or bedrooms, families should check the water intake after watering. It is best not to let water stagnate for many days.
Trees with leaves or stems that retain water
Some plants have a leaf structure forming crevices, holes, or depressions that can retain water after irrigation or rain. If planted outdoors on balconies or terraces, these locations need to be checked regularly.
The EPA notes that some mosquito species can also use natural places such as tree crevices, tree intersections and small water containers to lay eggs.
Therefore, instead of just paying attention to the name of the plant, the family should observe whether the plant and pot create stagnant water or not.
If there are many green trees in the house but the pot is always dry and drains well, the risk of creating breeding nests for mosquitoes will be significantly lower. Conversely, just a small tray of water can become a place for mosquitoes to lay eggs.
The CDC recommends that families dump, scrub, or remove items that may contain water at least once a week, including plant trays, vases, and other water containers.
Therefore, if you want to plant trees indoors, it is not necessary to completely remove green trees. The important thing is to choose pots with good drainage, do not let water stagnate and regularly check hidden corners.
To prevent mosquitoes, don't just look for "the tree that sucks mosquitoes", but find and remove places with stagnant water inside and around the house. This is a practical measure to limit the breeding environment of mosquitoes.
