Breakfast is quite important to start a new day, so many housewives focus on changing to diverse dishes. In which, housewives can refer to the delicious and nutritious standard Singaporean Kaya sauce bread, which makes breakfast more novel.
To make Kaya sauce bread for a serving of 2-3 people, including 4 chicken eggs, 6-8 slices of sandwich bread, 200ml of coconut milk, 120g of jaggery sugar (or white granulated sugar), 5-7 pandan leaves, salt, 30g of unsalted butter, 2-3 fresh chicken eggs.
Housewives wash pineapple leaves, cut them into short pieces of about 2-3cm. Beat chicken eggs lightly to mix the yolks and egg whites but do not whisk.
For the Kaya sauce part, put the beaten chicken eggs into a heat-resistant bowl. Next, add jaggery sugar (or white granulated sugar), coconut milk and a little salt before using a drumstick to beat the mixture evenly until smooth.
Next, put the mixed sauce bowl in a steamer. Note that when steaming, you should cover the bowl lid temporarily to avoid stagnant water diluting the sauce. Every 5-7 minutes, open the lid again and use a drumstick to stir the mixture evenly. This is an important step for the sauce mixture not to clump and to have a smooth consistency. Put the cut pandan leaves in the sauce mixture when steaming to create a characteristic aroma.
Continue steaming and stirring evenly for about 30-45 minutes, when the sauce thickens and has a light brownish-yellow color, you can take the bowl out of the steamer. If you want the sauce to be really thick and smooth, housewives can filter it through a sieve to remove sediment. Wait for the sauce to cool completely, put it in a clean glass jar, and store it in the refrigerator for about 1 week.
Next, the sandwich bread needs to be evenly golden brown on both sides and hot and crispy. When the bread is still hot, spread a thin layer of plain butter on one side of the bread slices and add enough Kaya sauce on top.
To make the dish more fully flavored, boil 2-3 chicken eggs with peach flesh and enjoy with soy sauce and pepper, along with a cup of hot milk coffee to ensure a nutritious breakfast.
