After retiring at the end of 2023, Vietnam's "athletics queen" Nguyen Thi Huyen left the Hanoi National Sports Training Center to return to Nam Dinh, starting a new journey as a coach.
Besides focusing on work, the former player born in 1993 also has time to take care of her family. She and her husband received good news when they had their second baby. Nguyen Thi Huyen gave birth to her second daughter at the end of 2024.

She shared: "Every time I get pregnant, I have different feelings. The first time, the good news came to the family in a somewhat passive way, but this time, my husband and I were more prepared. When I retired, I decided from the beginning that I would rest for a few months, recovering after training. My health was not good at that time. I was recuperating to prepare for the baby, so I was more proactive than with the previous baby.
I was more experienced the second time around. Most importantly, I had more time. With my first child, I started practicing again when he was only 3 months old. Now I can devote 100% of my time to him, so maybe that's why my second child is better behaved.
My baby's routine is good, he eats and sleeps on time. I also always know why he cries. This is completely different from when I had my first baby, when I had no experience."
According to Nguyen Thi Huyen, as a woman and an athlete, she really likes to have a beautiful figure. The Vietnamese "Queen of Track and Field" has had changes in her body after giving birth, becoming heavier and having a bigger belly. Due to a cesarean section, the former runner from Nam Dinh often takes the opportunity to go out to the field to run and do light exercises.
During the past time, Nguyen Thi Huyen said that she received a lot of companionship and support from both families, especially her husband and daughter.
"I am lucky to have a husband who is a good housekeeper. He always helps his wife. The number of times I wash dishes and sweep the floor can probably be counted on one hand. My husband does all the laundry, washing dishes, sweeping, and cleaning the floor.
Before I had the baby, I was the one who cooked, but after giving birth, my husband took care of everything. I just focused on taking care of the baby. Before, my grandmother helped us for a few months when I was just born, but now my husband goes to the market and cooks by himself. He is working at the Nam Dinh Province Sports Training and Competition Center, which is close to home so it is convenient for him to come back.
My eldest daughter loves her younger sister very much. She is in first grade but helps her mother a lot, is understanding, and is not jealous of her younger sister," Nguyen Thi Huyen confided.

Currently, the former athlete from Nam Dinh is receiving full support from her family to continue developing her professional athletics career. Therefore, Nguyen Thi Huyen is expected to be one of the coaches with a professional mark in the future.
