According to Ms. K, her family had a male-dominated ideology and wanted a son to continue the family line. Therefore, after Ms. K’s mother gave birth to her first daughter, her husband’s family was “not happy with her”.
A year later, Ms. K's mother was pregnant again and gave birth to a daughter. In the sixth month of pregnancy, Ms. K's mother and her grandmother went to the hospital for an ultrasound. At the hospital, the grandmother slapped Ms. K's mother right after learning that her daughter-in-law was pregnant with a daughter again.
After this incident, Ms. K's father began to neglect his family, leaving early and coming home late. Not long after, Ms. K's mother discovered that her husband had a mistress outside. After being discovered, Ms. K's father not only did not repent but also openly revealed that he had a "mistress" and was supported by his husband's family.
During a death anniversary at her husband's house, her mother told K that she worked hard in the kitchen and had no time to look after her daughter, so she asked her husband to help. At that time, K was only 2 years old, so she was mischievous and accidentally bumped into a kettle of boiling water, burning one of her legs. K's father also scolded her mother for not taking good care of her daughter.
The mother told Ms. K that the climax was when Ms. K's mother was home alone, the "mistress" came to provoke and challenge her about not being able to have a son. Unable to control her anger, Ms. K's mother slapped her husband's lover in the face. After that, her father and her husband's family ran up, beat her until her leg was broken and scolded her.
While Ms. K's mother was being beaten by her husband's family, the "mistress" used scissors to cut Ms. K's mother's hair. Since this incident, Ms. K's parents officially "went their separate ways".
After the divorce, Ms. K's mother kept custody of her two daughters and moved to Dak Lak to live. The court decided that Ms. K would pay her two children 400,000 VND per month. However, 20 years have passed and Ms. K and her children have not received this amount of support.
Listening to Ms. K's family story, director Le Hoang blamed: "It's too late to decide to divorce after her husband and his mistress beat her until her leg was broken."
Witnessing her father abusing her mother leading to a broken family, Ms. K expressed concern about love.
Director Le Hoang gave advice: “You are still very young, pretty and fresh, although you grew up in a family with many tragedies, your demeanor is very good. I believe that you will have a better life, so don't be too pessimistic. Even if you meet such a bad father, you must have faith that there will be better men,” the male director expressed.
