Actor Doan Minh Tai recounted that he first met Sunny at an art event. When the MC introduced the performance of a female doctor cum singer, musician, he immediately became curious. "I looked up at the stage and thought this was the woman I had been looking for for a long time," the male actor shared. However, contrary to his confident appearance on screen, in real life he was quite shy, so he did not dare to ask for his phone number.
Sunny admitted that she did not know Minh Tai was an actor at the first meeting. A small misunderstanding when she greeted him without he responding made her have a bad impression. "I thought he was intentionally ignoring me, so I was quite uncomfortable," she recounted. After many times working together, the two gradually had the opportunity to chat and bridge the distance.
A special point in their love story is that Minh Tai actively asked to be "adopted" by Sunny's mother - who is also a doctor. The care and attention of the family moved him. From common meals, frequent meetings, feelings arose naturally. Sunny said that she once hesitated whether it was family or love, so it was not until the third time she proposed that she accepted the date.
The couple admitted that the 16-year age gap once made them encounter many differences in thinking. Sunny wanted her boyfriend to share more, while Minh Tai was used to solving everything himself. One angry time made the male actor turn off the phone and leave, causing Sunny to panic and go looking for her. The image of his girlfriend crying with swollen eyes made him change. "That was the time I regretted the most," he said.
Health problems are also a big challenge. Minh Tai was diagnosed with thyroid disease and was diagnosed with precancerous disease. The surgery was performed by Sunny's father.
