At the ceremony, representatives of the Hanoi City Party Committee's Organization Committee announced the decision of the City Party Committee Standing Committee on the establishment of the Hanoi Newspaper and Radio and Television Authority on the basis of merging 6 press and radio-television agencies directly under the city.
The establishment of the new agency is carried out on the basis of important bases of the Central Government and the Hanoi City Party Committee, including Resolution No. 18 of the Party Central Committee on continuing to innovate and streamline the organizational structure of the political system, operating effectively and efficiently; Conclusion No. 126 of the Politburo, the Secretariat and Regulation No. 373 of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee on the functions, tasks, and organization of the press and radio and television agencies of the Party Committee of provinces and cities.
6 press agencies were merged, including Hanoi Moi newspaper, Kinh te va Do thi newspaper, Phu nu thu do newspaper, Lao dong thu do newspaper, Tuoi tre thu do newspaper and Hanoi Radio and Television Station.
The Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Party Committee also simultaneously made decisions to appoint leading officials of the Hanoi Newspaper and Radio and Television Authority. Mr. Vu Minh Tuan (born 1975) - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the City Party Committee was appointed as Director.
