A recent post on Reddit sharing a couple's reason for leaving their wedding has attracted thousands of interactions and comments. Not only that, the above story also caused conflicting opinions.
Specifically, the owner of the post said: "My husband and I don't have much time for ourselves because of the kids, so we were very excited to attend our friends' weddings. But in the end everything was a disappointment. Hopefully, it was a boring wedding.
The groom has been sober for 2 years, so the wedding did not serve alcohol to guests. No one told us this, making us feel disappointed. When we knew there was no alcohol, we left the wedding and went to the bar to hang out."
The couple further informed that the wedding party was held in a mansion but no alcohol was served. Therefore, the bride and groom's group of college friends left first. This made the bride and their friends extremely angry.
“We have seen a bad attitude from the bride. She called us bastards when she left in the middle of the wedding. She felt disrespected, thinking that everyone was making fun of the groom for not having alcohol.
We just want to hang out and drink. But the bride was angry and considered me the leader in calling everyone to leave," the woman who posted the post shared.
Before the above incident, many people agreed with the bride's attitude and criticized the behavior of her group of friends.
One account commented: "It's really not okay for you to skip the wedding party to go out. It's even more wrong to bring a group of people along. You're too bad. Why don't everyone try to stay?" for a moment then leave.
Life is not always what you want, people are really selfish, only thinking about the needs of their best friends. Not having alcohol can lead to boredom, but that's no reason for you and others to leave first."
Meanwhile, some others believe that the bride and groom should inform guests in advance about not serving alcohol at the wedding. As for guests, they should behave more delicately and discuss with the party's host what they want to drink.
