On May 12, the cast and production crew of the Korean drama "The Wonderfools" attended a press conference in Seoul.
Director Yoo In Sik appeared with the cast Park Eun Bin, Choi Dae Hoon, Im Sung Jae, Kim Hae Sook, Son Hyun Joo, Jung Yi Seo, Choi Yoon Ji and Bae Na Ra.
Main actor Cha Eun Woo is absent because he is on military service.
Set in 1999, "The Wonderfools" is a "comic-style superpower adventure", revolving around a group of eccentric and clumsy people in a small town who suddenly possess superpowers.
As the moment of millennium transition approaches, this group of "unwilling heroes" must stand up to protect their homeland from villains who want to cause chaos.
Park Eun Bin plays Chae Ni - likened to a "troublemaker of the neighborhood" with instantaneous movement ability. Cha Eun Woo plays Woon Jung - a clumsy civil servant in communication, hiding the ability to control objects with her mind.
Choi Dae Hoon plays a troublemaker with the ability to "stick tightly". While Im Sung Jae plays a gentle guy who is easily bullied but possesses superpowers.

Previously, the film received great attention due to controversies related to Cha Eun Woo's tax issue. Earlier this year, the actor was suspected of tax evasion through a "shell" company founded by his mother.
After the investigation by the Korean National Revenue Service, Cha Eun Woo admitted his mistake, publicly apologized and completed the additional tax payment of 13 billion won last month. Although the tax has been fully paid, public opinion still has many conflicting opinions.
At the event, director Yoo described Cha Eun Woo's civil servant role as a "mysterious character".
He is a person with spiritual ability and the ability to control objects with thought, but lives in a state of hiding it. Then he is drawn into this group of people and is forced to go through an unintended "socialization" process," the director revealed.
When asked about Cha Eun Woo's controversy, director Yoo shared: "We only saw that information when the post-production and editing process was completed.
This is a project that I have cherished for a long time, and everyone involved has worked extremely hard for each scene. I only focus completely on the final quality of the film”.
Through this, the director confirmed that Cha Eun Woo was not cut from any scenes in the movie.
At the same time, he also praised Cha Eun Woo's dedication: "His emotional acting and depth in the way he portrays the character are even better than I expected.
Not only Cha Eun Woo but all actors bring a new acting style. Eun Woo works as enthusiastically as anyone, and I am very satisfied with the final product.
The Wonderfools" will air on Netflix on May 15.
