Choi Ji Woo admitted that her level of fame and income skyrocketed in Japan after the success of "Winter Love Song", but not as good as Bae Yong Joon.

In the program broadcast on January 14 of "Park Myung Soo's Radio Show" on KBS CoolFM, actress Choi Ji Woo appeared as a guest with actor Min Jin Woong - her co-star in the movie "Sugar".

The three had a comfortable and lively conversation, sharing about current projects as well as behind-the-scenes stories in their previous careers.

MC Park Myung Soo mentioned "Winter Love Songs" - a famous Korean TV series in 2002 - and asked Choi Ji Woo directly: "Have you achieved great success with "Winter Love Songs?". Everyone knows that Bae Yong Joon earned a lot of money from that movie, so I am curious if you also earned a lot of money?".

Surprised by the question being too direct, Choi Ji Woo burst into laughter and slightly awkwardly said: "I didn't expect you to ask so straight.

The actress cautiously replied: "At that time, Japan was a very large market, and thanks to that, I worked there quite a lot, filmed a lot of commercials.

She also admitted that "Winter Love Song" played an important role in sparking the Hallyu wave in Japan and became a major turning point in her career.

Although confirming that she received a lot of love from Japanese audiences during that period, Choi Ji Woo humbly added: "It's true that I was warmly welcomed in Japan at that time, but I didn't earn as much as Bae Yong Joon.

Park Myung Soo laughed and replied: "Even so, it must be a significant number.

The upcoming work in which Choi Ji Woo plays the main role is "Sugar" - a drama full of humanity, telling about the intense love and journey of maturity of a mother named Mira (Choi Ji Woo), who has overcome the barriers of law and regulations to personally create medical equipment to save her young son with type 1 diabetes.

While Choi Ji Woo, born in 1975, plays the mother, actor Min Jin Woong (born in 1986), 11 years younger than her, plays the father Jun Woo.

Despite the large age gap, Min Jin Woong still praised Choi Ji Woo for being youthful and not affecting the combination: "I absolutely did not think about the age gap. In the process of working, there was no problem arising because of this age gap. She is too young.
