The performance in Chile of "Arirang" is considered one of the most anticipated stops by fans in South America. However, just over 3 months before the expected performance date, BTS's 3 concert nights are facing the risk of having to change locations because they have not been granted the right to use the Chilean National Stadium in Santiago.
According to the plan, the performances are expected to take place on the 14th, 16th and 17th. 10. The organizer DG Medios has started ticket sales since April 2026 and the number of tickets has quickly sold out. However, the stadium rental contract has not yet been completed because DG Medios has not reached a consensus with the National Sports Institute of Chile (IND) - an agency directly under the Ministry of Sports of this country.
According to the explanation from IND, the main reason lies in the stage design plan. BTS's concert uses a 360-degree stage placed in the middle of the field, leading to a installation and dismantling time of about 9 days. This process requires covering most of the grass and bringing a large amount of technical equipment into the field, raising concerns about the possibility of affecting the quality of the field.
In an official announcement, IND said that the pitch of the National Stadium still meets the standards of professional football organization and international tournaments. However, after a long period of operation, the recovery capacity of the pitch has decreased significantly. If concerts are organized with large-scale stage structures, the stadium is at risk of not recovering in time to serve scheduled sports events.
According to the management agency's plan, the National Stadium will continue to host many important events in the last months of the year, including matches of the Chilean national team, home matches of the Universidad de Chile Club, the Teleton 2026 charity program and many other sports activities. This is considered the reason why the Chilean Ministry of Sports prioritizes protecting facilities instead of approving the concert organization plan.
To avoid affecting the stadium's usage schedule, IND has proposed that the unit organize a survey of two other locations in the National Sports Complex, Southern Square and Southern Park. However, up to now, the two sides have not reached an agreement on a replacement plan.
The fact that the venue has not yet been finalized makes many fans worried. Currently, BTS and the organizing unit have not yet issued new announcements about replacement plans or information about adjusting the performance schedule, while tens of thousands of fans who already own tickets are still waiting for an official announcement.
World tour "Arirang" is considered one of the largest-scale tours in BTS's career. The tour is expected to go through many cities in Asia, Europe, North America and South America, marking the first time all 7 members have returned to the stage after military service.
BTS's appeal continues to be shown when many stages record a very large number of ticket buyers right from the first sales openings. Therefore, any changes related to the schedule or venue will quickly attract the attention of the global fan community.
