Dam Vinh Hung was banned from acting
Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - just signed a decision on July 10, 2024, sanctioning singer Dam Vinh Hung for "performing art using costumes, words, sounds, images, and movements." Actions, means of expression, and forms of performing acts contrary to the nation's fine customs and traditions; negative impact on ethics, public health and social psychology".
In addition, Dam Vinh Hung is also subject to an additional sanction of suspension from performing activities for 9 months as prescribed in Point b, Clause 9, Article 11 of Decree No. 38/2021/ND-CP dated March 29. .2021 Government.
Previously, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City determined that the "strange" badge on Dam Vinh Hung's shirt performed by the male singer during the music night "The Day You Light the Stars" taking place on May 4, 2024 was inappropriate because easily associated with sensitive political issues, causing offense and creating bad public opinion.
In particular, at that time, the whole country was preparing to celebrate important political events, the 49th anniversary of Southern Liberation and national reunification; 70 years of victory at Dien Bien Phu.
Huong Tram
In 2014, Huong Tram caused a stir when she wore an offensive performance outfit that exposed her entire back and sides. After that, she was fined 10 million VND by the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and banned from performing in Hanoi for 3 months.
After more than a month of receiving a summons for wearing offensive costumes while performing, Huong Tram presented herself to the authorities. Here, the female singer explained and apologized for the outfit that caused public opinion and said that this was an unintended incident.
The location where Huong Tram performed was a bar on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hanoi and was also fined 2 million VND.
Angela Phuong Trinh
In 2013, the Department of Performing Arts (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) sent a document to local Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism across the country regarding temporary suspension of licensing for Le Ngoc Phuong Trinh ( stage name is Angela Phuong Trinh) participates in performing arts.
Previously, the image of Angela Phuong Trinh using performance costumes that did not conform to Vietnamese customs and cultural traditions was spread on websites.
She continuously "performed unethical behavior" when performing at bars and music nights in Hai Phong...
Immediately after receiving feedback, the Department of Performing Arts organized a Council to appraise the content of images, audio clips, and images of Le Ngoc Phuong Trinh's performances in Hanoi and Hai Phong.
This Council evaluates that these acts of Le Ngoc Phuong Trinh are contrary to Vietnamese fine customs and traditions, lack culture in performance, and violate Decree No. 79/2012/ND-CP of the Government; Circular No. 03/2013/TT-BVHTTDL of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Decree No. 75/2010/NDCP of the Government and Directive No. 65/CT-BVHTTDL of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to regulate the organization of art performances and fashion shows.
