On the evening of November 12, Vietnam time, Miss Vietnam Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy was officially crowned Miss International 2024.
She also became the first Vietnamese beauty to win the crown at this prestigious contest.
Thanh Thuy's coronation at Miss International also had many special details.
In the final night, Thanh Thuy shone in an evening gown inspired by cherry blossoms by designer Le Thanh Hoa.
Coincidentally, the main color and inspiration of the dress not only matches the cultural context of the contest but also coincides with the color and design concept of the beauty queen's crown.
This is considered a form of "asking for luck", similar to what Thuy Tien did before when she was crowned Miss Grand International 2021.
The crown that Thanh Thuy wore during the coronation was sponsored by Vietnam.
The crown is exquisitely decorated with 333 white pearls and 1,960 white gemstones - symbolizing the first year the competition was held (1960), and will be used as the official rotating crown from 2022, replacing the old crown.
Another detail that makes Thanh Thuy's coronation special is that although Vietnam has had four international beauty queens, Thanh Thuy is the only one to be crowned in both domestic and international beauty contests.
The remaining three international beauty queens, Phuong Khanh (Miss Earth), Thuy Tien (Miss Grand International), and Bao Ngoc (Miss Intercontinental), have never been crowned national beauty queens.
Thanh Thuy was born in 2002, from Da Nang, is 1.76m tall and is studying at two universities: University of Foreign Languages (Da Nang University) and Greenwich University Vietnam.
She won the title of Miss Foreign Language University and 1st Runner-up of the Da Nang Elegant Student Contest. With her good English communication skills and confident demeanor, Thanh Thuy scored strongly in the hearts of the judges and the audience, convincingly winning the crown at Miss International 2024.
