On the evening of November 12, Vietnam time, the final round of Miss International 2024 ended with the crown belonging to Miss Vietnam Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy.
Right from the first days of the contest, the beauty queen born in 2002 made a strong impression thanks to her outstanding appearance, neatness and confident demeanor.
In the final night, Thanh Thuy showed her charm in the national cultural costume "Lua Nang Sen". Although she did not win the "Best National Costume" award, she was still announced to advance straight to the Top 20 and Top 8 thanks to her excellent performance in the swimsuit and evening gown competitions.
In the behavioral round, Thanh Thuy gave a good answer about the changes in the education sector after the COVID-19 pandemic. She emphasized the importance of quality education and how the global education system has adapted to the new situation. This convincing answer not only demonstrated her intelligence but also her sensitivity to social issues.
Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy has successfully brought home the first Miss International crown for Vietnamese beauty.
Notably, before that, Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien - then Top 5 Miss Vietnam 2018 also represented Vietnam to participate in this contest in 2018.
Despite expectations, Thuy Tien could not make it into the Top 15, returning empty-handed without achieving any results.
However, after failing at Miss International, Thuy Tien continued to fight, winning the right to represent Vietnam at Miss Grand International 2021.
This was a big turning point in Thuy Tien's career when she became the first Vietnamese beauty to be crowned in this contest.
Miss International and Miss Grand International are both major beauty pageants, but each has its own message and criteria.
Thanh Thuy's victory at Miss International after Thuy Tien's success at Miss Grand International shows the brilliance of Vietnamese beauty in international arenas.
With the achievements of Thanh Thuy and Thuy Tien, Vietnam now has a total of 4/6 crowns at the "BIG 6" contests (the 6 biggest beauty contests on the planet), with the addition of Phuong Khanh (Miss Earth) and Bao Ngoc (Miss Intercontinental).
