The Miss Universe 2024 semi-finals will take place on November 15, with three rounds: evening gown, swimsuit, and national costume.
After the event, the beauty representing Vietnam - Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen showed off her first victory - the "Best National Pageant" award.
This award honors and recognizes the national Miss Universe organization in its organization and promotion. The stage where Ky Duyen was crowned on the evening of September 14 was considered grand and meticulous.
Miss Universe Vietnam (MUV) organization received the award among nearly 130 countries sending representatives to Miss Universe. That is recognition for the producer and crew, as well as Ky Duyen and the contestants of MUV.
Transgender beauty queen Nguyen Huong Giang happily shared on her personal page: "At home, I received the news that MUV 2024 won the Best National Pageant award, so happy everyone. I feel like everyone's efforts after a season of organizing have been recognized by an international organization. Congratulations to all of us."
During the competition in Mexico, Ky Duyen had the President of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 - Mr. Valentin Tran and the crew accompanying and cheering her on.
In the semi-finals, 127 beauties representing different countries competed. Ky Duyen had an impressive performance, showing off her catwalk skills and professional performance demeanor.
Ky Duyen wore a national costume design consisting of a Nhat Binh shirt, decorated with butterfly motifs and studded with stones. Her prop was a hand-held parasol, which when opened, simulated the image of a "butterfly transforming into a chrysalis".
The costume is inspired by the butterfly parasol of the Nguyen Dynasty in the 20th century, honoring the ingenuity and meticulousness of ancient artisans.
The Miss Universe 2024 final will take place from 8am on November 17 (Vietnam time) at Arena CDMX (Mexico). The reigning Miss Nicaragua Sheynnis Palacios will crown her successor.
This year, Miss Universe 2024 will have a top 30 (instead of 20) due to the largest number of contestants in history. A spot in the top 30 will belong to the beauty with the highest number of votes from the audience.
The two previous representatives of Vietnam, Bui Quynh Hoa and Ngoc Chau, did not advance far, so the audience's expectations for Ky Duyen increased, because Miss Universe is the most fierce beauty contest on the planet.
