Billboard reported that 6 powerful women - Doja Cat, Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Lisa (Blackpink), Queen Latifah and Raye - will perform at the 2025 Oscar Awards, held on March 2, at the Dolby Theater in ovation Hollywood (USA).
The program will also have a special appearance of the Los Angeles Master Chorale choir.
Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were nominated for the 2025 Oscar for their roles in Wicked. The two female singers and actresses are expected to open this year's Oscar awards ceremony with one or more songs from "Wicked" - a work that received a total of 10 nominations before the awards ceremony.
The remaining 4 female singers are expected to participate in "performance to honor the filmmaking community and some of the legendary figures of this community".
The 2025 Oscar Awards, hosted by MC Conan O'Brien, will be broadcast live on ABC and online service Hulu at 7:00 a.m. on March 3 (Vietnam time). The red carpet program started 30 minutes earlier.
Notably, Lisa of Blackpink is the first Kpop idol in history to perform on the stage of the most prestigious film awards on the planet, organized by the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Cinema.
Lisa recently released the song "Born again" featuring Doja Cat and Raye, included in the upcoming studio album "Alter ego" on February 28.
But according to the revelation, at Oscar 2025, the 3 female artists will not perform this song but another "legend" song.
On February 17, the Thai member of Blackpink debuted as an actor in HBO's drama "The White Lotus 3".
She plays Mook, an employee of The White Lotus resort, and a health consultant for guests staying at the hotel. Lisa's performance is receiving quite positive feedback.
2025 promises to be a vibrant year for Lisa. After the album Alter ego was released at the end of February, Lisa took the Oscar stage with Doja Cat and Raye in early March.
In April, Lisa and Jennie (Blackpink) will perform at the biggest music festival in the US - Coachella. Lisa had a stage on April 11 and 18, while Jennie appeared on 2 other days, April 13 and 20.
The group Blackpink has been featured in Coachella's list of performing artists twice, in which they were the main artist in 2023. But this year, Lisa and Jennie will have their own solo stage.
Since separating from YG Entertainment to develop her solo career, in addition to releasing music products, Lisa has made great strides in her career by appearing on many major stages.
