Ham Eun Jung (T-ara) revealed that she has not graduated from Dongguk University (Korea) even though she enrolled in 2007. After many years of having to temporarily stop studying due to her artistic schedule, the actress is considering returning to school to complete the unfinished program.
In a video posted on her personal YouTube channel on August 12, Ham Eun Jung returned to Dongguk University, where she studied Theater. She said it has been about 8-9 years since the last time she went to school, if not counting some events at the faculty.
Recalling her university time, Ham Eun Jung said that she completed her first year and then applied for a year's leave. After the leave period ended, she returned to school, but her work became increasingly busy, making it impossible for her to continue studying. At one point, the actress paid tuition for the whole year but could not attend class, and was then forced to drop out of school because she did not meet the school's requirements.
Ham Eun Jung admitted that she used to be shy when mentioning Dongguk University because although she had been enrolled for many years, she still could not complete the program and receive her diploma.
This return to school also helps the actress check her academic performance. According to information she received, Ham Eun Jung has only completed 36 credits, while the program requires 130 credits to graduate. Thus, she is still short of 94 credits.
After knowing the missing credits, Ham Eun Jung talked to Professor Jo Jun Hee, who used to teach her when she was a student. The Professor said that she could not complete the program in just 4 semesters as initially planned, because the remaining credit volume is too large.
Instead, the professor suggested that Ham Eun Jung study step by step to suit her artistic schedule. She can return to school for a semester, then temporarily suspend if she has to participate in a new project and continue studying when work allows. According to this plan, the actress will take about 5 semesters to complete the remaining requirements.
Professor Jo Jun Hee also gave a solution to Ham Eun Jung's graduation requirement. According to him, she does not necessarily have to perform a stage work like other students, but can choose to write a thesis or participate in backstage work, depending on the program's regulations.
During her return to school, Ham Eun Jung also met Lee Jong Min, a friend who used to study in the same department and is currently a lecturer at Dongguk University. The meeting surprised the actress when she learned that her old friend had now become a lecturer.
Ham Eun Jung enrolled in Dongguk University in 2007, when she had started working in the entertainment industry. After that, her career with T-ara and acting projects grew, leading to a busy schedule. Her studies were therefore interrupted many times and she finally could not complete the program.
After nearly 20 years since enrolling, Ham Eun Jung is facing the opportunity to complete the goal she once abandoned. The actress has not announced the official time to return to school, but has proactively researched her academic records and discussed with lecturers about the plan to continue studying.
