National Assembly Deputy Nguyen Van Canh proposed that cities pilot places for motorbikes to stop for phone calls, and places for shippers to stop to deliver goods along the roads.

On August 11, at the First Extraordinary Session, the National Assembly discussed in the hall about the draft Law on Urban Development.

Speaking at the hall, National Assembly Deputy (NA Deputy) Nguyen Van Canh (NA Delegation of Gia Lai province) said that for cities to develop, the transportation system also needs to develop.

He clearly stated that currently cities still face difficult problems of congestion, traffic accidents, and parking spaces in urban areas. To solve this problem, it is necessary to apply many new methods, principles, and effective traffic organization models from developed countries at the same time.

At point e, clause 3, Article 8, it is necessary to supplement a content on traffic, which is: Piloting methods, principles, and models of traffic organization to solve urban traffic problems; directly applying the regulations in the 1968 Road Traffic Convention of which Vietnam is a member" - delegate Nguyen Van Canh proposed.

This delegate also proposed that cities organize pilot places for motorbikes to stop to make phone calls, and places for shippers to stop to deliver goods along the routes.

This will help reduce traffic collisions when currently many people are driving while making phone calls, or shippers encroach on the roadside to deliver goods, causing traffic jams" - Delegate Canh stated.
