Super Shy" surpassed 900 million streams on Spotify, helping NewJeans have their third song to reach this milestone after "OMG" and "Ditto".
According to statistics, "Super Shy" reached 900,048,067 streams on Spotify. This is NewJeans' third song to exceed 900 million listens on this platform. The group's total streams have also exceeded 8 billion.
Super Shy" was released in July 2023, included in the EP "Get Up" and is one of the three title tracks of the product. The song combines Jersey club rhythm with a vibrant beat, belonging to the group of NewJeans' outstanding songs during the group's active period.
After release, "Super Shy" achieved remarkable results on international charts. The song has been on the US Billboard Hot 100 for 8 weeks and on the UK Official Singles Chart for 9 weeks. The song also reached the Top 10 of Spotify's Daily Top Songs charts globally and in the US.
In addition to "Super Shy", "OMG" and "Ditto" are two other NewJeans songs that have surpassed 900 million streams on Spotify. "Hype Boy" reached over 700 million streams, while "New Jeans" and "Attention" surpassed 500 million streams. "ETA" has also surpassed 400 million streams.
The achievement of "Super Shy" is recorded in the context of NewJeans experiencing a long period of interrupted operations due to disputes with ADOR.
The conflict between NewJeans and ADOR has been tense since 2024 after a dispute between HYBE and Min Hee Jin, then CEO of ADOR. In November 2024, 5 NewJeans members announced the termination of their contracts with the company, but ADOR did not accept and brought the case to court. In March 2025, the court issued a ban on independent members. By October 2025, the court ruled that the contract between NewJeans and ADOR is still valid.
After the verdict, Hanni, Haerin and Hyein returned to ADOR, while Minji continued to exchange with the company. Danielle's contract was terminated in December 2025 and then involved in a compensation lawsuit. In July 2026, ADOR posted content with images of four members Minji, Hanni, Haerin and Hyein, but has not announced when NewJeans will return.
While NewJeans' activities have not returned to stability, old songs continue to increase listens. With "Super Shy", the group has another product that has surpassed 900 million streams on Spotify, showing that NewJeans' hits still maintain their appeal even though the group has gone through a long period of interruption.
