After nearly two years facing legal disputes and disruptions, NewJeans is said to be sending the first signal for their comeback.
Many members of the group continuously appear in activities preparing for a new music project.
Recently, a video recording Haerin and Hyein appearing in the US quickly spread on social networks.
The two female idols comfortably chatted among a large crew of film and production staff.
This image makes many fans believe that NewJeans are filming for content related to the comeback, although ADOR has not made an official announcement.
This is not the first time members have been caught in the process of preparing for a new project. Previously in April, Haerin, Hyein and Hanni were present in Copenhagen (Denmark), causing many speculations when a recording studio here was named ADOR.
After that, ADOR confirmed that the trip was part of the pre-production phase for NewJeans' new music project.
The company said that members are still preparing for upcoming activities according to a schedule arranged to suit each person's conditions.
This move is seen as a positive sign for fans, after a period of NewJeans being almost absent due to changes related to the management company.
Debuting in 2022, NewJeans quickly became one of the most prominent K-pop girl groups with hits such as "Attention", "Hype Boy", "Ditto", "OMG", "Super Shy", "ETA" and "How Sweet". In just a short time, the group continuously set records on charts, won many major awards and became the representative face of a series of international brands.
However, from 2024, the group's future fell into instability when conflicts between ADOR and former CEO Min Hee Jin broke out. After prolonged controversies, all five members announced the termination of their exclusive contracts with ADOR and sought to operate independently under the name NJZ.
The dispute was then brought to court. The final ruling confirmed that the exclusive contract between ADOR and members was still valid, forcing the group's independent operation plan to stop.
After the verdict, Haerin, Hyein and Hanni have started to participate again in project preparation activities with ADOR. Meanwhile, Minji has not yet made a final decision about returning to the company. Danielle continues to be involved in legal disputes with ADOR, leaving NewJeans' full squad future uncertain.
Although the release date of the new product has not been announced, the fact that members have continuously appeared in activities related to music production shows that NewJeans are gradually returning after a period of many changes.
With the group's still very large influence in the K-pop market, the upcoming comeback is expected to be one of the notable events of the Korean music scene.
